S’mores Dip

Winter is coming !!! The Night’s Watch wants you to stay indoors & make S’mores and not roam around in the wild making campfires. Sorry, you non-GOT fans, I am just obsessed 😛 😛

Wanna make some yummy, gooey, warm and delicious dessert without much pain and time, then look no further – just make S’MOOOOORES !!! If it was upto me I would have definitely named S’mores as a long lost sweet cousin of Maggi noodles just for couple of simple reasons – 1) perfect for first timers in the kitchen 2) no culinary skills needed 3) there is no way you can mess it up 4) and it’s a brainless recipe 😛

We usually make S’mores during our camping trips and night outs on the beach. But, with this simple recipe you can ditch the hassle of making a campfire and you can make it anytime you wanna spoil yourself. Nothing can beat it’s silky melted chocolate goodness along with the gooey toasted marshmallows scooped with crunchy graham crackers. Whenever we make S’mores we end scraping the bottom of the skillet or literally licking it clean 😛 😛

Here’s what you need:

  1. Marshmallows – as needed to fill up the skillet
  2. Chocolate chip cookies (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) – 1 bag
  3. Graham cracker squares – 1 box
  4. Butter – ½ Tbsp

Directions:

  1. Place the cast iron skillet inside the oven and preheat to 450 F (232 C)
  2. Once the oven is hot, remove the hot skillet from the oven carefully using an oven mitt / potholder
  3. Add butter to the hot skillet and swirl it so that butter coats the bottom and the sides
  4. Pour chocolate chips evenly into the skillet
  5. Arrange the marshmallows over the chocolate chips until the skillet is covered completely
  6. Bake it for 5-7 minutes until the marshmallows are toasted or become golden brown on top.
  7. Remove the skillet from the oven carefully and allow it to rest for 3-5 minutes
  8. Serve it warm with Graham cracker squares

Notes:

  1. Please watch the oven closely while baking in order to avoid burning marshmallows
  2. You can use any chocolate of your choice. Let it be milk chocolate, semi-sweet chocolate or a combination – all of them would result into crazy deliciousness
  3. If you can’t find a jumbo marshmallow, a mini one will also work
  4. Be very careful while working with hot skillet. Make sure to use oven mitts at all times.
  5. Instead of cast iron skillet you can also use an oven safe baking dish
  6. Along with chocolate chips you can also add mini peanut butter cups or nuts for added flavor
  7. Please make sure NOT to count calories while indulging
